God’s Plan for Giving God has given us the great privilege of being able to partner with Him financially in what He is doing in our communities and the rest of the world. Our giving is a result of both obedience to God and our love for God, a true expression of worship. For the Christ follower, giving is faith in action. There are times when your personal finances are tight and giving is not easy. But faithfulness to God’s direction is the indication that you trust Him to provide for all your needs, no matter what. Christians who have committed to give consistently have proven God’s grace and provision in their lives over and over. Because God can bless us more freely if our hearts are submitted to Him, He put specific instructions for giving in His word. This commandment comes with a promise: “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first-fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.” Proverbs 3:9-10 Giving is an expression of gratitude and devotion. As we consider what the Lord has done for us in our lives, it is from the outpouring of our hearts that we want to give in response to His love.
