Our Pastor…
Leonard Thompson is founding pastor of Heartcry Chapel. Encountering a relationship with Jesus Christ in 1984, Pastor Leonard was immediately active and passionate about sharing his faith in his sphere of influence, especially in the insurance industry where he enjoyed a twenty six year career. He was commonly known as the “business pastor”, leading many to Jesus during his business career, including peers and clients. He and his wife Karen moved to Clermont, Florida in 2002 to support and serve as Associate Pastor of Heart House Ministries, having been ordained under that ministry.
In 2005, hearing God’s call to go to another level of faith, Pastor retired from business and with Karen founded Heartcry Chapel. With a heart for people without Christ and a passion to see Christians living out Biblical lives, his teachings and counsel emphasize having a real relationship with Jesus Christ and living life as a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Leonard and Karen have been married over 40 years and have three adult sons, two daughters-in-law and three grandchildren.

Heartcry Chapel was born from a vision of impacting peoples lives in our homes, our schools, our places of business and our entire communities. Jesus Christ brings a message of love and hope to a world full of people in desperate need of both. Our desire is to share that message with real people, in real life situations, through the inspiration of a real God!
Whether you already have a relationship with God or you are still looking for that relationship, we would love to have you join us in this journey, looking for life’s answers. We hope our website gives you a little insight into whom and what Heartcry is about, but you won’t really be able to fully grasp it until you experience it! Why not check us out in person!
